New model integrates crop and climate systems to forecast climate change effects on maize
As lead author, Dr. Peng — then a postdoctoral researcher in Kaiyu Guan’s lab — developed the CLM-APSIM model, integrating APSIM’s detailed 12-stage crop life-cycle scheme into the Community Land Model to better forecast how climate change will affect maize production across the U.S. Corn Belt. The work was carried out on the Blue Waters supercomputer. Read more at ScienceDaily.
