ASC scientists unify disparate transpiration theories into one framework
Dr. Peng co-led a new framework that reconciles several competing theories of how plants regulate transpiration under water stress — plant hydraulics, supply-demand balance, and empirical soil-water-stress functions — into one consistent approach, published in the Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems.
