Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant features WACI Lab students Qianyu Zhao and Yuanxin Song
The Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant featured two of WACI PhD students in its Grad Student Scholars series. Qianyu Zhao combines watershed modeling, remote sensing, and machine learning to trace how nitrogen and phosphorus move from agricultural land into Lake Michigan, while Yuanxin Song is developing a targeted conservation framework that identifies nutrient pollution hotspots to guide more precise watershed management.
